Brian Kershisnik stopped into the studio recently with a batch of new paintings for me to photograph. These new paintings are for his upcoming exhibit at Meyer Gallery in Park City, Utah opening on February 1st.
I always enjoy it when Brian brings his painting in for photography. His views on the life, relationships and the world we live in always seem to make me stop and think. His views (and paintings) can cause me to re-examine my life and ponder. Sometimes, stopping all my busyness to ponder what I am really doing can be a good thing. But then, I have to get back to work and photograph his paintings!
This batch of paintings that Brian brought in ranged in size from 16″ x 20″ to 72″ x 54″. I always enjoy seeing the different sizes and different subjects that Brian paints. He sometimes does paintings that you can hold in the palm of your hand. Then again, he can also do paintings that are too large to even fit into my studio! I was lucky this time, everything fit into the studio!
Brians’ show opens Friday, February 1st, 2013 with an Artist reception from six to eight in the evening. For more information about his show visit the Meyer Gallery website. I’m glad I was able to get my own personal preview of this exhibit by photographing them as I won’t be able to attend the opening. I’ll be here at Terra Nova Gallery with an opening of our own that night; My parents are artists . . . no, really! Sculpture and painting by Ben & Kerri Hammond.
